If you are currently a taxi driver, just drop by our depot and bring along:
Your driver’s accreditation certificate
Your current Victorian Driver’s license
Commercial Passenger Vehicles Victoria is the Victorian government body responsible for the licensing and regulation of commercial passenger vehicles (which includes taxi).
For drivers new to taxi, we encourage to you visit the Commercial Passenger Vehicles Victoria website to familiarise yourself with the requirements and steps to becoming an accredited driver.
To get you started, these are three simple steps:
Step 1: Obtain drivers accreditation
You can apply for driver accreditation through Commercial Passenger Vehicles Victoria.
Step 2: Apply for an Australian Business Number (ABN)
You will need to for an Australia Business Number (ABN). When applying for your ABN, please apply as a sole trader and register for GST.
Step 3: Attend a driver training session with an authorised training centre
Once you have both driver accreditation and an ABN, you have a choice whether to attend a driver training with 13 CABS or Silver Top. Please book online or call them directly.
